The Herrschaftstaverne is not only a hotel but also a restaurant with a long tradition of lordly dining! Produce from our own cultivation or from the locality are served. Vegetables, fruits and herbs are grown in our gardens or are supplied by local farmers; meat is from our own cattle – there is nothing fresher or healthier! Our kitchen team turns the produce into delicious regional dishes – we wish you Bon Appetit!

Not only hotel residents but also good-food lovers in the area are warmly welcomed to the Herrschaftstaverne where they can expect down-to-earth but at the same time fine cuisine with regional ingredients, either from our own farm cultivation or from selected farmers in the locality. Culinary specialties of the Ennstal valley, for example, include Ennstal lamb which, during the warm months is out grazing around on the pastureland of the Hauser Kaibling, deer from the surrounding forests and the Ennstal “Steirerkas” locally made cheese.

Our farm
For generations we work predominantly with the produce from our own farming business. Our beef is so-to-speak “home-grown” – boiled beef, fillet steak, saddle of veal, carpaccio and co. all originate from the cattle reared in our own stable. With every forkful or mouthful one can simply taste that the animals were reared and fed humanely and correctly. We are delighted to serve you various beef specialties but also many other delicious dishes for which Styria is famous.

Make yourself comfortable!
In the Herrschaftstaverne you can choose whether to eat in one of our traditional restaurant lounges or in the conservatory or on our lovely terrace with a view over the surrounding mountain ranges of Schladming-Dachstein. A glass of good wine, culinary delicacies, views of the setting sun behind the Dachstein Massif – this is surely a wonderful end to the day.

In summer another popular gathering place is our huge stone table in the garden which stores the heat of summer sunshine and continues to radiate this warmth long into the evening. Enjoy the cozy warmth of this stone platter as you observe the setting sun as it slowly disappears behind the mountain peaks of Dachstein, Scheichenspitze and Eselstein.
How about a nightcap?
Pay a visit to our Bar – here the locals and the hotel guests meet up in the evening for a last drink, “a nightcap” and talk about the events of the day. Maybe with a glass of schnapps or maybe a jar of Schladminger beer.
