Our country lodge Gschwandtner is situated in Seewigtal, only about 10 minutes away from Haus im Ennstal at 1,250 meters above sea level. The former farmhouse has been renovated with much love and attention to detail and fitted out with everything needed for an Alpine vacation in Styria: traditional furnishings with a predominance of wood but also with a modern kitchen, wood burning stove and private sauna for all-round good feeling. This holiday home provides accommodation of 200 m² for up to 15 persons – your temporary mountain retreat. Ideal for a vacation in the mountains with friends or for a big family holiday for example, in celebration of a birthday or at the New Year or for just a get-together away from the stresses of daily life.
Nature on your doorstep
The Gschwandtner Lodge is situated at the heart of the Schladminger mountains and is thus ideal for all hikers and nature enthusiasts. For all those who see the mountain panorama and are filled with “Wanderlust”, here in Seewigtal in Styria – this is the place for you. Also for mountain bikers, Seewigtal valley is a fantastic location.
In just two minutes by car or on foot (hikers’ footpath) you will arrive at our secret gem of nature in Styria – our very own “Bodensee”, where you can start off on countless and diverse trekking tours and also enjoy the catch of the day at the local trout farm.
You will also receive the free “Sommercard Schladming-Dachstein” with free admission or discounts to more than 100 leisure attractions.
In winter …
In only a few minutes you arrive at the Hauser Kaibling asd the starting point for the 4-peak ski circuit (Hauser Kaibling – Planai – Hochwurzen – Reiteralm). Here there is something for everyone whether young or old: fantastic skiing and snowboarding slopes, cross-country ski trails, toboggan runs, numerous winter hiking trails, traditional chalets with regional specialties and so much more.

What you should know
Your holiday home is at your disposal after 4 p.m. on day of arrival. On the day of departure we ask you to please vacate by 10 a.m. at the latest. The next village Haus is 5 km away and here you will find food stores, restaurants and cafés, post office, bank and pharmacy. Schladming is approx. 10 km away. The lodge is reached by car via an asphalt road. Pets on request. No smoking permitted.

Our hiking tip
An especially lovely hiking trail leads around the Steirische Bodensee, alongside the waterfall and up to the lake Hüttensee, where refreshments are available in the Hans-Wödl-Hütte. Those who wish can then continue up to Obersee with fantastic views over the Schladminger range of mountains. Skilled mountaineers can take the Robert-Höfer-Steig up to the “Kleine Wildstelle” and “Hochwildstelle”. From here you have a spectacular panorama at 2.747 meters above sea level, on the second highest summit in the Schladminger Tauern range! For this challenging trekking tour you must plan a whole day and must have a good physical condition together with suitable equipment.
